Madelyn's Story Telling Festival

Madelyn made up a story and told it in her class...they chose her and a couple of other girls to compete against the other 1st grade classes. She didnt move on from there, I guess it was supposed to be longer...the teacher didnt know, she actually said she was one of the winners until they looked at the time. She did great!

MADELYN TURNS 7

AP Press
Orem, Utah

Despite some uncertainty over who her choice for the DNC nominee would be, Madilyn has turned the corner in what was termed to be "my best birthday ever", reaching the ripe old age of 7 and not acting a day older than 14. Clues as to her age include her youthful appearance, two loose front teeth and her incessant love of the fairytale princess. Adding to confusion about her real age were Madelyn's non-stop attitude, witty comments and shopping fever. The Slide Times reports birthday activities included taking friends out to eat and to "Enchanted" - the quintisential princess movie. Madelyn is reported to have received a Sno Cone Maker from brother Brandon, clothes for Lambie, Madelyn's build-a-bear from sister Savhannah and a 2 wheeler bicycle from those big people who "give me what I want". Friends and cousins also provided gifts for all out birthday fun.

HONK!

Sorry, I have to post this, it cracked me up. Last night Delaney was having a hard time sleeping becuase of her cold, cough etc....she was crawling around in her crib talking. I put her in bed with us and she layed there for a few minutes---then she got boared. She sat up and started honking my nose (a cute trick Mike taught her a bit ago). She was saying "onk". Then she turned the other way and saw Mike's nose and began to do the same. She just couldnt resist seeing my nose and not honking so she stretched as far as she could and reached out for my nose while holding on to Mike's nose, then laughed and said....."ONK"! Neither Mike nor I could help but laugh, but she went right back to her crib after that.

YEAH Brandon!

I am SO very proud of Brandon! We had his parent teacher confernece last night and he is doing very well. His teacher said she is amazed at his progress.
He now knows all of his numbers every letter in the alphabet and their sounds, his vowels, he has learned to color within the lines,
to cut and
he writes his name VERY well. Best of all, his teacher said that he is very well mannered, always willing to share and gets along with all of the kids....I think Brandon was beyond ready for preschool! GO BRANDON!

Brandon's teacher said that they have lots of structure in the classroom. She decided just for fun and a change of pace to let the kids paint, this is what Brandon did. A couple days later she brought out the picture and asked him what it was a picture of, this is what he said, "This is a painting of dinosaurs making a mess. There are lots of dinosaurs with long necks and they are trying to reach outer space." To our surprise he told us the same thing! His favorite part is the blue dinosaur...I am sure you can see him!
